Privacy Policy
Last Updated: February 2024
Nighthawk is committed to protecting privacy and handling data responsibly. This Privacy Policy explains how information is collected, used, stored, and protected when organizations use the Nighthawk platform.
This policy applies to all users of the platform, including organization administrators, managers, and authorized staff.
Information We Collect
Nighthawk collects limited information necessary to operate the platform effectively. This may include:
- Account and user information such as names, email addresses, and role assignments.
- Organization configuration details including camera identifiers and location labels.
- Event metadata generated by the system such as timestamps, event types, and activity indicators.
Nighthawk does not collect personal identifiers such as names, phone numbers, or access card records.
Camera Data and Video Processing
Nighthawk connects to existing dealership camera feeds to detect activity in real time. Continuous video is not stored or transmitted off-premises. At the moment a qualifying event occurs, the system captures a brief, timestamped snapshot frame for verification purposes. These event frames are retained on the dealership's own on-premises server for 30 days and are automatically deleted thereafter.
The platform converts visual input into structured event data such as:
- Authorized personnel detected
- Unknown individual detected
- Vehicle activity detected
- Security event recorded
This approach minimizes privacy risk while enabling operational intelligence.
How We Use Information
Information collected by Nighthawk is used solely to:
- Provide real time alerts and dashboards
- Generate daily activity summaries
- Support operational visibility and performance reporting
- Maintain platform reliability and security
Information is not sold, rented, or shared with third parties for advertising purposes.
Data Storage and Security
Nighthawk implements reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards to protect data. Security measures include:
- Encrypted data storage
- Role-based access controls
- On-premises server infrastructure — no data is transmitted to or stored on third-party cloud servers
Access to dealership data is restricted to authorized users within that dealership.
Data Retention
Timestamped event snapshot frames are retained on the dealership's on-premises server for 30 days and are automatically deleted thereafter. Event metadata (timestamps, event types, activity indicators) is retained only for the duration required to support reporting and operational review. Dealership administrators may request data deletion or account termination in accordance with contractual terms.
Compliance and Legal Considerations
Nighthawk is designed to support compliance with applicable privacy regulations where required, including regional data protection laws.
Organizations are responsible for posting appropriate signage and informing personnel of camera usage as required by local regulations.
Changes to This Policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated periodically. Material changes will be communicated through the platform or official channels.
